5 STEPS to Better Skin

-

You can employ an unlimited number of skin care products and procedures on your skin these days, but proper care can actually be simplified down to a few steps. Five, to be exact. We asked Lupin to dish on his top five tips for taking care of your skin.

1

Keep it clean.

“Without fail, always cleanse your skin and use a high quality cleanser that is equipped to remove pollutants, sunscreen and your skin’s natural oils without stripping the skin barrier.”

2

Don’t skip the sunscreen.

“Wear sunscreen 365 days a year, and reapply as needed.”

3

Go deep.

“Exfoliate with hydroxy acids or consider using a Retinol treatment at night — 0.5% to 1% concentration — to activate your skin’s renewal process, and keep your skin smooth and radiant.”

4

Drink it in.

“Hydrate, inside and out. Many people think that drinking lots of water is enough to keep their skin hydrated, but it’s simply not the case — especially in the winter months. I recommend using creams and serums that contain humectants like hyaluronic acid and ceramides like squalene to hydrate and retain moisture in the skin. This goes a long way to relieve skin flaking and sensitivity as well as prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.”

5

Rely on C.

“A vitamin C serum in the daytime has a lot of great skin benefits: prevents free radical damage, activates collagen synthesis, enhances photo-protection, inhibits pigmentation and brightens the skin.”
