Arrkann maintains original values while adding new services

- S.W. ADAMS

The years and the awards continue to add up for Arrkann as they capture their fifth straight Readers’ Choice Gold win. At the same time, they are the only Canadian RV dealership to be named to RV Business’s Top 50 North American dealerships – which they’ve received for the past nine award years.

“Winning is wonderful,” says Sarah Baptiste, President and CEO. “But what really gives us joy is knowing that we’re helping our customers connect with their friends and family and making memories around the campfire.”

Sarah’s grandfather Ruben Friedenberg and his sons Rick and Ken had a simple recipe for success when they founded Arrkann, in 1977. Their original vision: “Growth through customer service and dedication”, which remains ingrained in the company. “We’re a familyrun business,” she says. “And we’ve been successful because we embrace the ‘RV lifestyle’ and treat our customers like family.”

To that end, they’ve practised continuous improvement. Over the past seven years they’ve expanded from their Edmonton and Sherwood Park operations to add two premium Calgary-area locations – in Langdon and Carstairs. “We introduced a new logo last spring that includes ‘Est. 1977’ as a reference to over 40 years of doing business in Alberta,” says Baptiste. “But we’re also offering more service and sales options across the province. Now, when people RV to the Badlands, or Banff, or Headsmashed-in, they’re still close to an Arrkann operation.”

Included in that approach is personnel taking courses across North America to maintain best practices, while their larger size gives them more purchasing power for new products. This commitment to education extends to their customers as well. “We offer not only great service to keep RV’S working like new, we also offer an extensive seminar program where we teach our customers everything from how to de-winterize their RV to how to camp off-grid.”

So, while the years add up, so do the customers, and Baptiste is proud to say that Arrkann not only has repeat customers – they have repeat generations.

“We have customers tell us that their grandparents bought their first trailer from us – which is a pretty great thing to hear,” she says.
