Stranger Things raises awareness of disorder

Stranger Things has created interest in cleidocranial dysplasia, a congenital condition that causes missing or abnormal growth of teeth and collarbones. The actor who plays Dustin Henderson was born with the disorder, and his character has it, too. Dustin not only educates his friends about the condition, Google Trends showed searches about it rose 11.2 per cent in the week after the Season One debut, 12.9 per cent in the week after Season Two launched, and when Season Three released, searches jumped 94.4 per cent.
