The Weeknd is shaping up! Supporting his new album After Hours, The Weeknd will be stopping in Edmonton June 14 (a Sunday) as the second date on his just-announced North American tour.

Recently seen in the Safdie brothers’ magnificent Uncut Gems playing a hotheaded past version of himself, this is The Weeknd’s first tour since the Starboy series of dates in 2017. This Live Nation concert is at Rogers Place.

Now check out this bold claim in the press release: “The After Hours Tour will showcase state of the art production and one of the most innovative stage designs to date, containing the most LED lights and video for an arena show.”

The most? Well that is a lot!

Songs from the new album After Hours include the title track, Heartless and Blinding Lights, joining the Toronto-born rappers string of dark-wave R&B club hits like The Hills, Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Can’t Feel My Face, as well as some fine collaborations with Future, Daft Punk and Ariana Grande.

Special guests on the tour include Sabrina Claudio and Don Touver.

Tickets (incl. GST): $29.75, $49.75, $79.75, $99.75, $175.75, $275.75, $375.75, $475.75 (plus service charges). They go on sale to the general public 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, through ticketmaster.com, various presale details also at the Ticketmaster site.
