Perry Mason reboot set

HBO’S reboot of the courtroom drama Perry Mason is set to stream June 21 on Crave. Matthew Rhys stars in the new series, an origin story for the titular criminal defence lawyer. It takes place in 1931 Los Angeles during the Great Depression. John Lithgow, Regina-born Tatiana Maslany and Stephen

Root will co-star. The original Perry Mason ran on CBS for nine seasons, from 1957 to 1966. Robert Downey Jr. shared the trailer for the series Thursday on Twitter. He was originally set to play Mason, but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts. Downey remains a producer on the series.
