TRUMP'S D.C. HOTEL LOST $70 MILLION
Former U.S. President Donald Trump claimed his showcase hotel in Washington earned US$150 million during his time in office, but it actually lost US$70 million, the House Committee on Oversight and Reform said Friday.
The committee found the hotel received over $3.7 million in payments from foreign governments — roughly equal to 7,400 nights at the hotel, posing a potential conflict of interest.
The Trump Organization leases the building from the federal government, and while it gave a portion of those monies to the U.S. government it didn't provide full details to the General Services Administration, the government agency that manages federal properties.
