Madonna reveals career regrets

In an appearance Thursday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Madonna chatted about some of the movie roles she'd turned down, including Catwoman in Batman Returns and Nomi Malone in Showgirls. While she was fine with passing on Showgirls, she did regret declining the Catwoman role, which she called “fierce.” She also surprised the audience with one revelation. “I also turned down the role in The Matrix,” she said, without naming the character. “Can you believe that? I wanted to kill myself.” She added: “That's like one of the best movies ever made. A teeny-tiny part of me regrets just that one moment in my life.” Madonna's new documentary film, Madam X, was released Friday on Paramount+.
