THE STAND UP SHOW

With material stemming from being a first-generation Filipino-Canadian, a mom, a wife and “being tired,” local Celeste Lampa has performed in the SheDot Comedy Festival in Toronto and at the Grindstone Comedy Festival here in the summer. Prone to talk about her parents, she called her comedy album 25 per cent based on being spread too thin between all her duties and passions, which you can find at Billy James Records on Bandcamp if you can't make it out to the show, or — let's face it — even if you do. Details: 9 p.m. at Grindstone Theatre (10019 81 Ave.), $14 at grindstonetheatre.ca

STOPMOTION ( 2023)

In Robert Morgan's live actionanimated horror (for which he won best director at Fantastic Fest), we follow animator Suzanne Blake (Stella Gonet) who — unable to use her hands due to arthritis — enlists her daughter Ella (Aisling Franciosi) to help finish her most recent film. When Suzanne suffers a stroke and falls comatose, Ella resolves to finish the film on her own, but as her mind starts to fracture, the animated characters take on a life of their own. 93 mins.

PS, Shinya Tsukamoto's Tetsuo: the Iron Man follows at 9:30 p.m. if you want to keep the unnerving weirdness going.

Details: 7 p.m. at Metro Cinema (8712 109 St.), $14
