SCOTT, Janet

January 15, 1950 - January 30, 2024

Hearts broken. We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of our beloved mom, grandma (Bubba), sister, aunt and friend on January 30th.

Janet lived a life full of adventure and accomplishments, notably as a partner in a successful travel agency in the United States and later, after returning to Canada, achieving multiple awards as a top performing account manager for American Express Corporate Travel. She completed her career as a realtor with Ace Lange Homes, working with a dear friend in a profession she loved. Janet was the consummate professional who nurtured her relationships with friends, clients and colleagues. While her career was robust, her true love was being surrounded by her family, which always included a beloved Sheltie.

Though she travelled broadly, Janet's heart was at home with her daughters and grandchildren. She leaves behind her two treasured daughters, Holly Jordin and Shauna Ylagan, son-in-law Dave, and the very lights of her life, her grandsons, Dominic and Max who love her dearly. Janet will be forever missed by her sister Shirley Graham and husband Tom, nieces and nephews, and her lifelong best friend, Lawrie Smith.

We hold the memories of our mom dear to our hearts - her sweetness, her large laugh, and her great desire to have fun. Until we see you again, Mom, we send our endless love. We commit to live a wonderful life in your honour.

Janet was predeceased by both her parents, Warren and Agnes Scott, her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Deryk Thorn, and most recently, her husband, Terry Whitten.

Janet's memorial service will be held at Riverbend Lutheran Church, 495 Rhatigan East Rd NW, Edmonton, on Friday April 26 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, Janet's request is a donation to the SPCA/animal rescue.
