Edmonton police have identified three of six suspects after a 64-year-old man was knocked to the ground, beaten and robbed by a group of assailants at Churchill LRT station last month.

The victim was on the ground-level Churchill LRT platform waiting for a train on Feb. 24 when he was approached by a man around 5:30 a.m., police said.

The two had a brief verbal exchange before the 64-year-old was attacked, knocked to the ground and violently assaulted when five others joined in on the attack. The victim was robbed before the assailants fled.

An emergency medical services crew treated the victim and transported him to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators released surveillance shots of the group and have since arrested two people, while they seek a third on warrants. Three other suspects are yet to be identified and police are still seeking public tips. One of the male suspects was armed with pepper spray. Another was riding a bicycle. There was one female in the group.

“We are very thankful for the public's assistance thus far and are hopeful that someone out there recognizes any of the three suspects in the photo and will contact police,” Const. Anton Golosov said in a news release this week.

Markus Lee Gladue, 21, is wanted on warrants for aggravated assault, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to public and robbery.

Travis Damian Houle, 35, is charged with aggravated assault, robbery and failure to comply with probation order.

Brady Rodney Desroches- Smith, 28, has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery. At the time of his arrest, Desroches- Smith was also wanted for first-degree murder by Grande Prairie RCMP in connection to the killing of Brian Buchaski, 34. Buchaski's body was found in a wooded area Dec. 4 and had to be identified by fingerprints.

Nathan Landry, 29, of Grande Prairie was previously charged with first-degree murder in connection to the case. RCMP said this week that Desroches- Smith was also wanted in connection to the homicide.
