Glen, born in Hardisty, AB, was the eldest of five children. Following high school he worked on the oil rigs in Alberta. Directional drilling was new in Canada and Glen became interested in this unique way in which to drill for oil. His career ended up spanning over 54 years when he drilled his last directional well at the age of 73. Glen was a "gentle giant" in the oil industry and was greatly respected by all who knew and worked with him. Although his employment took Glen away from home a great deal, he was a very kind, supportive and loving mentor to his five sons.

Unfortunately, Glen's "Golden Years" were hampered by an onset of Parkinson's but he accepted this disease, continued to winter in California and never gave up participating in limited activities.

Glen is survived by his loving wife, caregiver and best friend Marlene whom he married in 1986. Also surviving Glen are siblings Gail and Doug. Left to cherish his memory are loving sons Robert, Bryce, Clayton, Rodney and their families. Glen is predeceased by his parents Peggy and Robert Lagore, brother Clayton, son Richard, grandson Angus, sister Jeanne Cooper and Frances the mother of his sons. Glen will be fondly remembered by the many friends he made while serving in the oil industry as well as through his volunteer positions during retirement.

A service will be held at Hainstock's Funeral Home 9810 34 Ave. NW, Edmonton on Thursday, May 2 at 3:00 pm. Donations may be made to STARS Air Ambulance or Parkinson's Association of Alberta.
