Debrin­cat signs an ex­ten­sion

the chicago black­hawks signed for­ward Alex Debrin­cat to a three-year, $19.2 mil­lion con­tract ex­ten­sion, the team an­nounced thurs­day.

the deal car­ries an av­er­age an­nual value of $6.4 mil­lion and runs through the 202223 sea­son for debrin­cat, who was sched­uled to be­come a re­stricted free agent in July. the 21-year-old is in the fi­nal sea­son of his en­try-level pact with an aav of $894,166.

debrin­cat recorded ca­reer­high to­tals in goals (41), as­sists (35) and points (76) while play­ing in all 82 games last sea­son with the black­hawks. His goal to­tal was the six­th­high­est in the NHL in 2018-19.

debrin­cat has col­lected 128 points (69 goals, 59 as­sists) in 164 ca­reer con­tests since be­ing se­lected by chicago in the sec­ond round of the 2016 NHL draft.

the cal­gary Flames an­nounced thurs­day that gen­eral man­ager Brad Tre­liv­ing has signed a mul­ti­year ex­ten­sion, be­lieved to be a three-year pact. His cur­rent deal was set to ex­pire af­ter this sea­son.

“Over the past five years, brad has done an ex­cel­lent job putting a team to­gether on and off the ice,” Flames club pres­i­dent John Bean said in the an­nounce­ment. “con­ti­nu­ity is im­por­tant in this role. brad has earned the trust and re­spect of our own­er­ship group and our fans.”
