Bills’ Allen still not cleared
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen remains in the NFL concussion protocol, but the club has labeled him as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
Allen still needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist over the weekend before he can be cleared to play. He was a full practice participant on Friday.
Buffalo coach Sean Mcdermott said he would be fine with starting Allen.
“Yes, I would be comfortable,” Mcdermott told reporters. “He’s in the protocol so I can’t go into what he’s done and hasn’t done, but I would be comfortable.”
Allen was injured in the third quarter of last Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots when he absorbed a helmet-to-helmet hit to the head.
Matt Barkley will start if Allen isn’t cleared to play. Barkley was 9-of-16 passing for 127 yards and one interception in relief of Allen versus New England.
