House fire un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion

Ar­son is sus­pected af­ter fire­fight­ers were called to a house on fire in the Bri­tan­nia Youngstown neigh­bour­hood Satur­day.

Crews were called to the home at 163 Street and 101 Av­enue just be­fore 5 p.m. Satur­day. Po­lice were also called to the scene at the re­quest of the home­owner, ac­cord­ing to Ed­mon­ton Fire Res­cue Ser­vices spokes­woman Sarah Jack­son.

The fire be­gan in the back­yard in a shed, spread­ing to the back of the house and dam­ag­ing two cars that were sit­ting next to the shed. Po­lice are look­ing for a per­son of in­ter­est, said Staff Sgt. Barry Maron.

Paramedics as­sessed res­i­dents of the home, but no one was taken to the hos­pi­tal.
