denver broncos cornerback De’vante Bausby told reporters tuesday he couldn’t move for 30 minutes after a collision with a teammate during sunday’s game at the Los angeles chargers.

“I was awake the whole time. I was never unconscious, I just couldn’t move, but I was still talking and everything,” said bausby, who was put on a backboard and taken off by a cart after a collision with linebacker Alexander Johnson in the second quarter. “the doc said I would be fine and I just trusted him. after 30 minutes, I was able to wiggle my toes and after a couple hours I gained full mobility. so I was straight, I was fine.

“they said I was paralyzed for the first 30 minutes. Like I said, after 30 minutes I could wiggle my toes and after two hours I could move everything else.”

asked if it was a terrifying 30 minutes, bausby replied, “not really ... because I was able to talk, so I was just calm, just trusted what the doc was saying.”

bausby was taken to the Los angeles trauma center, but after several tests, he was cleared and allowed to fly home with the team sunday evening.

Mike Klis of Kusa-tv in denver reported that the team will place bausby on injured reserve and is signing veteran cornerback Coty Sensabaugh.

Head coach Vic Fangio said Monday that bausby’s injury was a cervical sprain.

“strengthen my (neck) muscles again and I’ll be good to go,” bausby said before the report of him going on Ir. “right now we’re just going to take it really slow. Just gain, get my strength back ... I don’t have a timetable, but hopefully pretty soon. My plan is to come back and play though.”

Bills Trade zay JONES

the Oakland raiders acquired buffalo bills wide receiver Zay Jones for a 2021 fifth-round draft pick, the teams announced tuesday.

the raiders have needed help at wide receiver in part because of the departure of Antonio Brown before the start of the regular season, and with Tyrell Williams (foot) and J.J. Nelson (knee) out with injuries.

the bills drafted Jones in the second round (37th overall) out of east carolina in 2017. He played in 31 of buffalo’s 32 games over the previous two seasons, making 25 starts. He started 15 of 16 games last season, finishing with 56 catches for 652 yards and seven touchdowns. Jones has seven catches for 69 yards this season, all posted in buffalo’s first four games.

Pittsburgh steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters tuesday he’s not concerned with rumours about the Washington redskins’ interest in hiring him as their next head coach.

“I’m not worried about that, to be quite honest with you,” tomlin said at his news conference. “you were the first person to mention it to me in a public setting.”

asked what his reaction was in a private setting, tomlin replied, “about the same I’m giving you. Guys, I’m the head coach of a 1-4 football team that’s going on the road to play a Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback with my third quarterback. you think I’m worried about anything this week other than that?”

espn reported Monday after Washington fired head coach Jay Gruden that tomlin, tampa bay buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles and Kansas city chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy would be included on any list of candidates for owner Dan Snyder. Indianapolis colts linebacker Darius Leonard announced tuesday on Instagram he has been cleared from concussion protocol.

the versatile second-year back rushed three times, made three receptions and attempted two passes during sunday’s 26-23 overtime loss to the baltimore ravens. He gained only 13 yards from scrimmage and threw an interception.
