Warriors down Oil Kings in OT
The visiting edmonton Oil Kings scored with less than a minute left in regulation to force overtime, but ended up dropping a 4-3 decision to the Moose Jaw Warriors in WHL action on Wednesday night.
Oil Kings forward Liam Keeler scored with 41 seconds left in the third period after the Warriors had taken the lead less than two minutes earlier at Mosaic Place.
Forward riley sawchuk and defenceman Matthew robertson also scored for edmonton, which erased an early 1-0 deficit and led 2-1 in the second period before the Warriors responded with a pair of their own markers.
Jadon Joseph scored the game-winner at 2:49 of the extra frame for the Warriors, who also got goals from Keenan Taphorn, Owen hardy and Matthew benson.
edmonton goaltender Todd scott made 24 saves, while his Moose Jaw counterpart, bailey brkin, turned aside 33 shots.
The Oil Kings return home for two weekend games at rogers Place, against the calgary hitmen on saturday (7 p.m.) and Portland Winterhawks on sunday (4 p.m.)
