War­riors down Oil Kings in OT

The vis­it­ing edmonton Oil Kings scored with less than a minute left in reg­u­la­tion to force over­time, but ended up drop­ping a 4-3 de­ci­sion to the Moose Jaw War­riors in WHL ac­tion on Wed­nes­day night.

Oil Kings for­ward Liam Keeler scored with 41 sec­onds left in the third pe­riod af­ter the War­riors had taken the lead less than two min­utes ear­lier at Mo­saic Place.

For­ward ri­ley sawchuk and de­fence­man Matthew robert­son also scored for edmonton, which erased an early 1-0 deficit and led 2-1 in the sec­ond pe­riod be­fore the War­riors re­sponded with a pair of their own mark­ers.

Jadon Joseph scored the game-win­ner at 2:49 of the ex­tra frame for the War­riors, who also got goals from Keenan Taphorn, Owen hardy and Matthew ben­son.

edmonton goal­tender Todd scott made 24 saves, while his Moose Jaw coun­ter­part, bailey brkin, turned aside 33 shots.

The Oil Kings return home for two week­end games at rogers Place, against the cal­gary hit­men on satur­day (7 p.m.) and Port­land Win­ter­hawks on sun­day (4 p.m.)
