TORONTO — There have been more lows than highs for the Toronto Argonauts this season.

But a milestone moment was reached in Friday night’s

28-21 victory over the visiting Ottawa Redblacks as slotback S.J. Green joined an exclusive class by eclipsing 10,000 career receiving yards. He reached the plateau with 1:36 remaining in the opening half.

The Argos scored a TD on the drive to take a 17-3 advantage at halftime.

Green becomes the 18th player in CFL history to reach the 10,000 receiving total. He led all receivers against the Redblacks with 10 receptions for 170 yards.

The Redblacks’ loss — their 12th in the last 13 games — officially eliminates them from post-season contention and assures a Western team will cross over into the East when the playoffs begin next month.

Toronto quarterback Bethel-thompson completed 27-of-36 passes for 300 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

Ottawa counterpart Will Arndt, in his first CFL start, completed 28-of-42 passes for 288 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

The result leaves both teams with a 3-12 record.
