The 7 Virtues fragrances ($70 for 50 mL, at Hudson’s Bay, thebay.com) —which are made with blends of rose oil from Afghanistan, patchouli

from Rwanda and vetiver from Haiti—have helped bring prosperity to war-torn areas across Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean. Now, the Halifax native’s story is the subject of a documentary, Perfume War. Stegemann, who has a nose for inspiring others, hopes the doc incites other niche fragrance houses

to follow her lead.

Andreja Pejic made a major debut this season at British designer Giles’ fall/winter 2015 show—it was her first time on the runway since her gender-reassignment surgery. She’s also one of the new faces of Make Up For Ever, making her one of the first transgender models to score a beauty campaign. “When I found out, I almost died of excitement! I think I cried a little too, to be honest,” she said. “Makeup helped me feel prettier on the outside even when everything else was confusing and com

plicated. I believe that true confidence allows us to break through the boundaries that society has established.” h
