Brush up

Meet fall’s magic wands (from top): • Everything about the NARS Audacious Mascara ($34) brush is high drama—from its signature jungle-red colour to the 200 plastic bristles and hooks that ensnare lashes. • Lise Watier Dramatique Intense 3D Volume Mascara’s ($24) teardrop-shaped brush ensures that lashes, long and short, are enhanced to epic proportions. • Swirl the Cover-Girl The Super Sizer ($11) wand while applying; this enables the interspersed mini-bristles to coat as close as possible to the lash line. • The surface area and moulded bristles of the Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara wand ($20) catch lashes in one quick swipe.

Perfect 10

As Coco Chanel once said, “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance”—and, in this case, good skincare. This month sees the launch of La Solution 10 de Chanel Sensitive Skin Cream ($106), a hypoallergenic and fragrance-free lotion that contains only 10 ingredients, including hydrating glycerine and shea butter. Dr. Amy Wechsler, a dermatologist and Chanel’s skincare adviser, came up with the vision for the product after she noticed that patients with sensitive skin couldn’t tell if their issues were caused by their lifestyle or the multi-ingredient products in their skincare regimen. Wechsler also asked Chanel researchers to include the most potent antioxidant tea that they could find. They chose silver-needle white tea, which comes from China and contains double the polyphenols found in green tea.
