SENSE SPA AT THE ROSEWOOD LONDON, ENGLAND When it comes to knockout, unforgettable luxury, there’s an art to doing lavish in a way that retains a sense of playfulness among all the extravagant details. This grand central London hotel is a virtuoso of unique details (ornate birdcages with chirping finches by the elevators; an awe-inspiring 50-metre-tall central staircase made of solid marble; a farmers’ market held in the courtyard every Sunday) and exceptional service. The standout Sense Spa is an extravagant world of warm woods and bamboo-walled seclusion and has exclusivity on its side: It’s host to the only available Face Place treatment outside of the United States. The signature Face Place facial is a Hollywood-secret skin fix that offers instant results by using a galvanic mask straight out of a sci-fi flick to pump vitamin C and other antioxidants into the skin as well as a game-changing pore-sucking vacuum mask. Holistic relaxation is at a premium at this spa, regardless of the treatment chosen—there are also contouring marine body wraps and rose-quartz-crystal facial treatments that will leave you glowing like you just won an Oscar. After emerging from the spa’s blissful cocoon, consider booking into the Grand Manor House Wing for the night. (At 585 square metres, it’s so large that it has its own postcode.) You’re probably not ready to join the real world for a while yet. VANESSA CRAFT
