The personal underwater jetpack tucks under your body and lets you zoom through the water at up to five kilometres an hour and to depths of 40 metres—but you do have to remember to come up for air more frequently than a dolphin! (The even more adventurous can try a Flyboard, another type of jetpack that propels you up into the air.) On the day I’m set to try the reef explorer, the water is too choppy, so I go out on a catamaran instead.
