My definition of “getting back to nature” is going a day without mascara. Then I took a trip to Fogo Island, N.L., for the launch of a skincare line that uses ingredients indigenous to the Atlantic coast. The raw appeal of the rugged landscape reminded me of what real, unedited beauty truly is. (And the gale-force winds and horizontal rain showed me that “frizz-free hair” and Fogo aren’t compatible.) Here’s to finding inspiration in unexpected places.
