EDITOR’S POV A large part of my job as an editor involves trying to predict the future. “What’s next, and how do I get there first?” is the question I’m always trying to answer. This month, I can say with confidence that up-and-comers Matilda Lutz (above and page 58) and Stephan James (page 56) will have everyone talking about their breakout performances. Yet there’s something to be said for not knowing what the future holds. Sometimes, being pleasantly surprised is a thrill in itself.
