Re­search sug­gests that women need more sleep than men but are al­most twice as likely to re­port in­som­nia. We can thank changes in our hor­mones dur­ing our men­strual cy­cle, preg­nancy and menopause, says Dr. He­len Driver, a sleep ex­pert at Kingston Gen­eral Hospi­tal and Queen’s Univer­sity.
