The oil trend has made it to your nail polish—and for good reason. “Oil makes pigment really pop and increases shine,” says Tom Bachik, global nail designer for L’Oréal Paris. The brand’s new Le Vernis à L’Huile by Color Riche ($10) contains four types of oil—rose, lotus bloom, camellia seed and argan—which means that one coat of polish is all you need for streak-free colour. For fall, Bachik is vibing on jewel tones (his fave in the new collection is Blue Royale) and nixing OTT nail art. “It’s not dead; we just want to take a very minimalistic approach,” he says. “Add a metallic accent—a gold sparkle, a moon, a little stud—something clean that’s intentional without being in your face.”
