Kedi, set in the alleys and shops and apartments of Istanbul, is a compelling bit of documentary storytelling… that just happens to be about the lives of Turkey’s largest city’s feline population. With everything from interpersonal pathos (the story of a man who credits feeding street cats with saving his life is particularly moving) to high drama (literal cat fights), this film-festival-circuit darling is entertaining and enlightening, even if you’re not a kedi lady. h
