DOUBLE AGENT
When perfumer Anne Flipo developed Woman, her first collaboration with American designer Ralph Lauren, she was immediately drawn to tuberose. “It’s one of the most fascinating flowers in a perfumer’s palette,” she says. “It’s feminine and powerful and has a lot of subtle facets: opulent yet bright, with luminous inflections and a creamy addiction.” To temper the fragrance from being too sweet, she topped it with warm sandalwood and dark woods and then finished it with a flash of spicy pink pepper and sparkling green top notes. The grand finale is a cocktail that feels decadent yet light, straddling the line between feminine and masculine—much like the perfect RL riding boot.
