A night of skincare lessons from Kiehl’s and Nina Park at Sephora Canada.

ELLE (Canada) - - Beauty -

To fete the arrival of Kiehl’s skincare at Sephora Canada, ELLE Canada and Kiehl’s global consulting makeup artist Nina Park hosted an event at Toronto’s Bloor Street location where Park shared the skincare secrets she uses to get her celebrity clients red-carpet ready. Missed out? Here are the biggest takeaways.

1. SKINCARE IS THE KEY TO FLAWLESS MAKEUP APPLICATION.

“I always start with skincare— it’s the most important step,” says Park. “It makes makeup much easier to apply.” She dedicates the first 10 to 15 minutes with every client to cleansing their skin, applying a mask—she loves the Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque—and doing a facial massage.

2. USE TONER LIKE YOU WOULD USE POWDER TO MATTIFY SKIN.

After the hydrating mask, Park uses facial cotton pads to create a DIY sheet mask. She pulls apart the cotton into thin layers, saturates them with Calendula Herbal-Extract Alcohol-Free Toner and applies them strategically to the oily areas of the face. “It’s great for the T-zone,” says Park. “It tones the skin but doesn’t leave too much

3. USE MOISTURIZER TO HIGHLIGHT.

One of Park’s favourite products is Glow Formula Skin Hydrator. She uses her fingers to apply it down the nose, above the brows and on either side of the chin. “For women with oilier skin, this works as a moisturizer on its own,” she says. For those who need more moisture, Park applies a dime-size amount of Ultra Facial Cream to the face and then goes over it with a facial-massage tool to help it absorb before applying foundation. moisture behind, so there’s no flashback in photos.”
