1. Do not ask frequent traveller AMANDA BLAKLEY what her favourite place is—she says picking just one city would be like choosing between her children. But the Malibu-based writer has no problem offering up a tried-andtrue tip. “When in a new place, I love to take a taxi to any ‘up-and-coming’ neighbourhoods and just explore,” she says. “It’s a great way to get a feel for a city based on what its young, creative cohort is digging and doing.” To read about her journey through Vienna (and its abundance of wine), head to page 138.
2. Lisbon native JOAQUIM ARNELL was more than ready for his close-up in our portrait series, “Chaos Theory” (p. 120). What will the Portuguese model be sporting this spring? “I think baggy trousers are the way to go [this season],” says Arnell. “I like how, from oversized [pants] all the way to bell bottoms, they don’t have to conform to your silhouette. Paired with corduroy, they’re my go-to spring trend.”
3. “Jane Fonda proved my secret theory,” says Pickering, Ont., native LEANNE DELAP of her meeting with our March cover star. “The more successful (and multi-talented) people are, the more kind and thoughtful they are. 4. Beauty director LESA HANNAH woke up super early to catch a boat to the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens to learn all about aloe vera. Luckily, the boat she took (pictured) was just a shuttle to a much bigger, more luxe craft, which let her live out a version of her dream of being an extra on Succession. It’s long past time to talk openly about menopause—after all, as writer LEAH RUMACK puts it, “there’s no opt-out button.” In “The Change” (p. 74), the Torontonian takes a look at the beauty brands leading the charge in menopause-specific skincare. What other products is she obsessed with? “I love my Fenty Beauty Vivid Liquid eyeliners—I have them all,” says Rumack. “I’ve been waiting my whole life for crazy colour payoff like this!”
