While exploring the lively streets of Old Havana, Tara Lowry was enchanted by how many fleeting moments were simultaneously playing out along the Malecón seaside promenade – too quick for her to capture them all. “Five minutes after taking this photo, there was a completely different scene occurring,” says Lowry. The Alberta-born travel photographer is drawn to the history and whimsy inherent in the Cuban capital: “There is a nostalgic energy in Havana that leaves you feeling like you have gone back in time. It’s full of vibrant colours, making it a fascinating place to photograph.” — En explorant les rues animées de la vieille ville de La Havane, Tara Lowry était fascinée par la quantité de scènes se jouant simultanément sur le Malecón, trop éphémères pour qu’elle puisse toutes les saisir. « Cinq minutes après avoir pris cette photo, une scène complètement différente se déroulait », dit-elle. Photographe de voyage née en Alberta, Mme Lowry est attirée par l’histoire et la fantaisie propres à la capitale cubaine : « Il y a une énergie nostalgique à La Havane qui vous fait l’effet d’un voyage dans le passé. Ses couleurs vives en font un endroit enchanteur à photographier. »
