Rapper and actor Awkwafina had a breakout year. She stole every scene of the wildly entertaining rom-com Crazy Rich Asians, and was the brightest part of the otherwise disastrous Ocean’s 8. Throw in gigs hosting both Saturday Night Live and the iHeartRadio MMVAs, and you couldn’t escape her in 2018. Comedy Central is now making a show about her rise titled Awkwafina.
