Rising above poverty through the power of business

-

Imagine a world where failure isn’t an option. Where there are no second chances because there is no other choice.Where success is paramount, even when faced with economic instability, political fragility and inequality.

At MEDA we imagine a different world. One where our clients can build thriving businesses, farms and livelihoods. Our vision is that all people may unleash their God-given potential to earn a livelihood, provide for families and enrich their communities. We work to ensure entrepreneurs around the globe can access the skills, knowledge, tools and resources they need to thrive in business.

For decades we have been global leaders in providing economic development, financial services, impact investment, improved technology, business training and better access to markets. Through partnerships with private and institutional donors, millions of people have been given the tools they need to succeed.

People like Amina. She is a single mother of two from Kenya. After realizing her hygiene and soap-making business was not able to sustain her family, Amina ventured into coffee trading. Through MEDA and a Café Del Duca Limited partnership, Amina received training on bookkeeping and business management. Grant programs, offered through the project, also provided her the opportunity to acquire a public health license and new coffee carafe. Amina dreams of one day owning and operating a restaurant that sells coffee and snacks. The expansion would increase her profitability and allow her children access to better education and improved living standards.

Amina’s business is not just a way for her to make money. It’s a calling where she and her fellow hardworking entrepreneurs can build businesses that create goods and services that enrich their lives and their communities.

Fuelled by Christian faith and love of their neighbours, faithful MEDA donors have ensured thousands of stories just like Amina’s can happen every day.Won’t you join us?

The right solutions have the power to transform lives. They can improve the quality of life for entire communities and create lasting change for generations. Together we can ensure people have access to the resources they need to thrive in business and fulfill their God-given potential.

MEDA. It’s more than aid. It’s investment in people. It’s business solutions to poverty. Donate today.
