From black ice to scented rings, jewellers are taking adornment to next-level luxe. By SARAH CASSELMAN

Grape, peppermint, black licorice—DAVID YURMAN’s new Bubblegum Pinky Rings smell as good as they look. Inspired by the aroma of an old-timey candy store, the limited-edition, 18-karat gold baubles feature an eco-friendly resin infused with aromatic oils in classic flavours such as bubble gum and cotton candy. “Aside from the emotional feeling that a favourite piece of jewellery evokes, the rest of your senses are limited

to sight and touch,” says Evan Yurman, creative officer at David Yurman. “These rings introduce

your sense of smell and hopefully a fond childhood memory.”

Comic book not included. Iconic Canadian jeweller

is giving its latest collection the Midas touch with the launch of Muse Ribbon, an 18-karat gold vintage-meets-modern jewellery lineup. Inspired by the patterned ceiling of the original Montreal Birks boutique back in 1879, the 18-piece collection includes filigree and mesh chandelier earrings, statement cuffs and delicate pendants—perfect for layering. This is the fifth Muse collection, which included past stars like Muse Pearl (2012)

and Muse Silver (2014).
