Marie Jo’s Avero collection, featuring a soft check pattern and embroidered daisies, now comes in on-trend pink, while Prima Donna’s First Lady collection, a line of sheer-panelled bras and underwear with all-over embroidery, has been updated for winter in pure white.

Underprotection, a Danish line, is a new addition that mixes ethics and aesthetics by using sustainable materials in its garments, like Tencel, bamboo and organic cotton. The It item this season is the longline bra: This ever-popular piece is supportive, seductive and can even transition to street wear.

Meanwhile, the flagship is adding another 1,000 square feet of bras, panties, sleepwear and sexy intimate apparel. On rotation, there are brands like Prima Donna, Marie Jo, Freya, Fantasie, Huit, Cleo by Panache, as well as Maison Lejaby.

Running the style gamut from comfy to everyday essentials to sexy special occasion undergarments, this long-time Calgary shop specializes in professional bra fittings and stocks sizes 28 to 56, A to NN, and XS to 4X. New names hanging on the racks include Jane Woolrich (made with silk and traditional French Leavers lace), Ophelia King and Charlie Choe, as well as Lusomé, a Calgary company that designs and manufactures functional-yet-stylish sleepwear with temperature control.

This February, it’s all about that lace: “The non-padded bras are most popular,” says owner Lailina Smith. “It’s working with a woman’s natural assets.” However, she’s most excited about carrying the new health-conscious Corin bra, designed to minimize pressure and maximize comfort with its breathable 3D spacer, moisture-wicking material and temperature regulation. Coined “the perfect bra,” it helps prevent disorders in the lymphatic system, inflammation and swelling.

Independently owned and operated for over 30 years, this downtown Edmonton boutique carries intimate apparel, chemises, pyjamas and loungewear, as well as bridal lingerie and accessories. Exquisite corsetry and gowns with lace-up backs by Jane Woolrich are made-to-order and new this year. You’ll also find Lise Charmel, Simone Pérèle, Marie Jo, Prima Donna and Cosabella.

Prima Donna and Empreinte are perennial favourites from across the pond, and the shop now carries its swimwear collections, too. For sport support, Anita keeps bouncing to a bare minimum.
