SUMMERTIME

Fashion (Canada) - - Letters - —Mary (Winnipeg) —christine Riedel (Toronto)

Kahlo would inspire anyone to take up painting. While Polanca was originally on my list of places to spend evenings, I took Noreen’s suggestions and headed to La Condesa and La Roma and was so glad I did. I am recommending Mexico City to everyone. It’s sophisticated, charming and surprisingly affordable. I read Olivia Stren’s essay “What a Time to Be Alive” (August 2017) on one of the rare hot and humid days we had this summer. Did we even have a summer? No one obsesses more about the weather than Canadians, but few of us can so eloquently capture why we pine for a season that lasts as long as a snowflake landing on our tongue.
