“This isn’t for fes­ti­vals or 14-yearolds,” says hair­styl­ist Si­mon Miller of the nine shades of KMS Style Color spray-on colour ($30 each). In­stead of hot pink and acid green, you’ll find “so­phis­ti­cated” matte tones like “Iced Con­crete,” “Stone Wash Denim” and “Raw Mocha.” “We wanted to move out­side of Coachella and Burn­ing Man,” says Miller, who is also a global style coun­cil mem­ber for KMS. As for the con­cept for the prod­uct it­self, the idea came from the fact that in the sa­lon world, the hair­cut and style com­ple­ment the colour. “What if we turned that on its head?” says Miller of the brand’s thought process. “We’re cre­at­ing colour now that sup­ports the cut.” In ad­di­tion, the prod­uct is hu­mid­ity-re­sis­tant, pro­vides hold like a hair­spray and doesn’t come out un­til sham­pooed.
