“This isn’t for festivals or 14-yearolds,” says hairstylist Simon Miller of the nine shades of KMS Style Color spray-on colour ($30 each). Instead of hot pink and acid green, you’ll find “sophisticated” matte tones like “Iced Concrete,” “Stone Wash Denim” and “Raw Mocha.” “We wanted to move outside of Coachella and Burning Man,” says Miller, who is also a global style council member for KMS. As for the concept for the product itself, the idea came from the fact that in the salon world, the haircut and style complement the colour. “What if we turned that on its head?” says Miller of the brand’s thought process. “We’re creating colour now that supports the cut.” In addition, the product is humidity-resistant, provides hold like a hairspray and doesn’t come out until shampooed.
