HERE’S A thought-pro­vok­ing ques­tion. What is more sat­is­fy­ing: the ac­tual dish of tasty food or the plea­sure of it be­ing ready when you ar­rive home? If this is a busy sea­son for you, then it might be a pretty close tie.

Af­ter a chilly day of out­door fun or an ex­haust­ing day of work­ing, shop­ping or dec­o­rat­ing, you’ll be happy to have a meal that is ready to go. With a few last-minute touches these five dishes can be ready to en­joy shortly af­ter walk­ing through the door. All the recipes can be pre­pared up to two days in ad­vance, and then “fin­ished off” when you’re ready to eat.
