WHETHER IT’S sunset-watching from the balcony, gathering together in the backyard or opening up the cottage, there’s lots to look forward to as the weather begins to warm. When the season changes, that urge to switch up the old routine comes along. It’s the Canadian way! We say that same philosophy should be applied to cocktail hour. You may find yourself turning to the same standby classic (and there’s no shame in that—we do it too!) but in the spirit of change, here are five new ways to mix it up.

For something fresh, we’re playing around with the base, and in place of the traditional spirits we opt for cider, saison beer, herbaceous liqueur and sweet and rosé wine bases—all bottles that are getting some much-deserved attention these days. For when you want to get in touch with your bitter edge, try our tangy Rhubarb & Fernet Sour. For a light and airy vibe, the Cucumber & Cider Smash, Grapefruit & Rosé Spritzer or Saison Collins could become your next go-to summer cocktails. Or for a perfect meal-finisher, sip on our Hibiscus-Strawberry Shrub & Sweet Wine Soda. Why be restricted to simply sipping old standards when you can put together delicious libations like these!
