SMOKED HOT BUTTERED RUM

Cheers to the Holidays with an alltime classic cocktail infused with smoky flavour!
2 cups (500 mL) water
1/4 cup (60 mL) brown sugar
1/4 cup (60 mL, 1/2 stick) butter, melted
1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground nutmeg Pinch ground cloves Pinch salt
6 oz rum
1. When ready to cook, set Traeger temperature to 180° (80°C) and preheat, lid closed, for 15 minutes. For optimal flavor, use Super Smoke if available.
2. In a shallow baking dish, combine 2 cups (500 mL) water with all ingredients except for the rum and place directly on the grill grate. Smoke for 30 minutes.
3. Remove from the grill and pour into the pitcher of a blender. Process until somewhat frothy.
4. Pour 1 1/2 oz of rum each into 4 glasses. Split hot butter mixture evenly between the four glasses.
5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and freshly grated nutmeg. Enjoy!
