SMOKED HOT BUTTERED RUM

Cheers to the Holidays with an alltime classic cocktail infused with smoky flavour!

2 cups (500 mL) water

1/4 cup (60 mL) brown sugar

1/4 cup (60 mL, 1/2 stick) butter, melted

1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground nutmeg Pinch ground cloves Pinch salt

6 oz rum

1. When ready to cook, set Traeger temperatur­e to 180° (80°C) and preheat, lid closed, for 15 minutes. For optimal flavor, use Super Smoke if available.

2. In a shallow baking dish, combine 2 cups (500 mL) water with all ingredient­s except for the rum and place directly on the grill grate. Smoke for 30 minutes.

3. Remove from the grill and pour into the pitcher of a blender. Process until somewhat frothy.

4. Pour 1 1/2 oz of rum each into 4 glasses. Split hot butter mixture evenly between the four glasses.

5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and freshly grated nutmeg. Enjoy!
