EARL GREY TEA COCKTAIL FOR A CROWD
LONDON LEMON
Sardinian citrus-infused gin is a natural complement for Earl Grey tea’s nuanced citrus flavours in this party-ready cocktail.
2 to 3 Earl Grey tea bags
2 tbsp (30 mL) sugar, or to taste 9 oz Drumshanbo Gunpowder Sardinian Citrus Irish Gin (LCBO 22453, $54.95)
2 oz lemon juice
Lemon wedges for garnish
1. Pour 12 oz boiling water over tea bags and sugar in a large, heatproof jug. The finished drink will be diluted with ice, so you may want to make an extra-strong brew by adding an additional tea bag. Leave mixture to steep at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
2. Remove tea bags and chill for at least 2 hours.
3. Combine chilled tea, gin and lemon juice in a serving pitcher. Stir gently.
4. When ready to serve, pour into six glasses filled with ice. Garnish each with a lemon wedge.
