URBAN AND ATHLETIC YOGA BY LOCOMOTION

-

Sessions at 32 ° C via infrared systems for gentle heat. Music (Hip-hop, Indie, R & B and +) from urban culture. Sound and light systems designed by the Moog team, specialists in scenography. Lovasi interior design and graphic design by Bang Bang. The table is set for a redesigned yoga experience. The Locomotion team breaks the codes and marries the millennial discipline with the athletic training methods (strength & conditioning) that made it famous.

Every day, the one-hour sessions, in groups of up to 18 people, are different. Designed for a complete body workout, they consist of sequences lasting 10 to 15 minutes, called “flow.” Starting in September, the team plans to offer 15 sessions per week.

“We wanted to create a bridge between the fundamentals of yoga and modern training methods. Vinyasa was chosen as the starting point. It is a dynamic yoga more easily adapted to the level of each one. It also offers more freedom on the programming side. Movements have been added outside the traditional repertoire of yoga by drawing on our expertise in Strength & Conditioning. By continuing the development of our method, the notion of heat has imposed itself. We wanted to improve the experience by playing on a temperature contrast. We chose a system with infrared. This technology creates a gentle heat (32 ° C) directly on the skin. The warm-up of the body is faster. We will be ready for action in 5 minutes, which will allow us to devote as much time as possible to flow, ‘says Éric Fafard, a kinesiologist-trainer responsible for yoga at the Studio.

‘In 2016, we started a shift by focusing on small group training to give maximum access to our expertise. We also chose to be “hyper-focus” and to present the purest offer possible. This approach allows us to devote maximum time and resources to each discipline. We have identified three services that are proven, complementary and that we believe in. After the Boxing (2017), ATH (2018), we still had to launch Yoga, “says Yan Caron, Founding Partner of the Studio.
