AMAZON ECHO SHOW 5: SMALL AND USEFUL

Amazon has recently launched the latest in the Echo family: the Echo Show 5. With a compact design, a 5.5 “display, rich sound, a high-definition camera and a built-in camera cover, the Echo Show 5 allows Alexa to show you a wide variety of content in every room of your home.

Its precise sound makes it ideal for watching Vevo clips, or listening to your favorite songs with Amazon Music, Spotify, Tunein or Deezer.

You can also watch your series and other videos with Prime Video, or listen to CBC newscasts.

New options for the smart home

With the new connected home dashboard available on all devices, you get even more control over compatible connected devices and groups. Just say, ‘Alexa, turn on the light’ or use the on-screen controls to adjust the brightness or turn off the light. You can also view the flow of your surveillance camera and control your connected thermostats, access recently used devices, and manage connected devices in groups.

Echo Show 5 also offers a two-way communication feature with Ring video bells. Just say the command when someone rings or when the camera detects motion. You will be able to see and interact with your visitor.

Designed Around Your Privacy

Echo devices are designed with multiple elements of protection and control of your personal information. Like all Echo Show devices, Echo Show 5 features a micro/camera on/off button that electronically turns off the microphone and camera, and displays a clear visual indicator when an audio or video stream is sent into the cloud. In addition, Echo Show 5 is equipped with an integrated camera cover that allows to easily disable the camera while continuing to interact with Alexa.

Amazon also offers new ways to more easily delete voice recordings on all devices with Alexa built-in—just ask.

Very soon, customers will be able to say, “Alexa, erase what I just said,” or “Alexa, erase everything I said today,” and the corresponding records will be deleted.

In addition, the new Alexa Privacy Portal will provide centralized information on the design of Echo devices, as well as control options for your Alexa experience.
