The Experience
When you walk through the timber frame entrance into the Timber Barn, located in the heart of St. Jacobs, Ontario, across from the Stone Crock Bakery, the instinctual reaction is “wow”. The custom design show room is set up with two full open concept kitchens, stair displays, bar area, dining tables, and an extraordinary bathroom. The faint smell of wood gives the essence of solid-wood products. This is not your traditional, country-style establishment. The Timber Barn takes custom wood design to a whole new level. The showroom proves that Timber Barn designers have found the perfect mixture of rustic, reclaimed textures with modern clean lines and functionality. “We built the Timber Barn showroom to create an experience for our customers, and to inspire people to dream and realize what is possible in a space,” states Timber Barn and HBK Custom Woodworks owner, Henrik Saari. “The showroom is our starting point; it is a tool to showcase our talents and abilities as a company.” The Timber Barn showroom incorporates products from many local businesses and artists, such as Thak Ironworks, KW Glass, Innovation Interiors, KW Countertop, Graniteworx, Watermarks and more. “In this industry, it is all about supporting local businesses and creating solid relationships,” says Timber Barn Manager, Roxanne Fisher. “There is a lot of talent in our area. People do not need to go to the GTA to find quality, affordability, and beauty to accentuate their home.”
Our Story
The Old Timber Barn (Timber Barn for short) opened its doors in September 2012, and has been inspiring people ever since. The custom design showroom incorporates that rustic, natural feel, and mixes it with modern design. The owners of HBK United Custom Woodworks, located in Elmira, Ontario, started the Timber Barn to showcase their craftsmanship and enhance their credibility. HBK was started 4 years ago in the back of a van, in an alley behind the bank that gave them their small business loan. “We all felt like we had come to the end of the road at our previous job,” says Saari, “we wanted a new adventure. It was a similar feeling with starting the Timber Barn, we had come to a point where we needed to move forward.”
