That’s Lisa Cameron’s motto in life and, so far, it’s working in her favour.

Born in Kitchener, Cameron moved to Heidelberg in the third grade, and spent her childhood dancing and acting in shows throughout Waterloo Region and Toronto, is one of Hollywood’s up-and-coming celebrity wardrobe stylists.

“When you push yourself to do what you really want to do, it is the most rewarding thing in your life,” the now 29-year-old says. “I’m a true believer in following your dreams.”

Cameron’s life in the entertainm­ent industry started when she was just three years old, when her parents Cathie and John Cameron enrolled her in singing, dance and modelling classes. Her career soon took off, with the youngster appearing in several commercial­s and musical theatre shows. At just five-years-old, Cameron starred as Gretel in a local production of The Sound of Music.

“That’s where it all kind of started,” she says. “I got to dress up and do photo shoots and it just kind of sparked my love of entertainm­ent.”

Her outgoing personalit­y and endless talent was noticed by her community when she was crowned Little Miss Oktoberfes­t Kitchener at age 10. She continued her love of theatre and dance through her teens, taking part in several local shows and travelling throughout Canada and the United States for dance competitio­ns.

When she was just 17, Cameron packed her bags and set off for Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu on a full dance scholarshi­p, helping the dance team win five National Division titles.

But her time in university wasn’t just about dancing for her. It was here that she also received a chance to showcase her talent in another area — designing costumes.
