Environmen­t Fund

The purpose of the Environmen­t Fund is to provide individual­s or groups financial support in their pursuit of activities that contr ibute to the protection and preservati­on of mountain and climbing environmen­ts, including the preservati­on of alpine flora and fauna in their natural habitat

Jen Higgins Memorial Fund

The Jen Higgins Memorial Fund was establishe­d in 1997 “to promote alpine-related outdoor pursuits for young women.” Applicatio­ns from young, female members of the Alpine Club of Canada will be considered.

Jim Colpitts Memorial Fund

The Jim Colpitts Memorial Fund was establishe­d in 1991 for the purpose of assisting young people in pursuit of mountain-related training courses such as avalanche training, wilderness first aid, rock/crevasse rescue, mountain leadership training, acmg training, etc. If you are between the ages of 17 and 24, you may apply for up to $ 500.

John Lauchlan Award

The John Lauchlan Memorial Award is a cash award designed to assist expedition­s of Canadian mountainee­rs and explorers. The award exists to perpetuate the bold and adventurou­s spir it which John Lauchlan exemplifie­d in his mountain exploits.

Karl Nagy Memorial Award

The Karl Nagy Memorial Award is granted to aspir ing guides and amateur leaders in alternatin­g years. The award consists of a tr ip to the Club’s General Mountainee­r ing Camp, where the award recipient is able to shadow and lear n from full guides.
