Raphael Slawinski and Ian Welsted climbed the often looked at dr ip on the east face of the south summit of Mount Kidd, in Kananaskis Country, Alta., and named it Big Kidd WI5 M7+ 150 m. “We went around to the left and up Billy Goats Gruff WI3, ’cause the direct ice wasn’t in and the slab looked sketchy and time consuming,” said Welsted about the meander ing path up to Big Kidd, which hangs above a large bowl.
