Oullete

At 34 years old, Jean-Pierre “Pee Wee” Oullete continues to be one of Canada’s strongest crack climbers. His first climbs were at 14 years old, he teamed up with one of his good fr iends, Jean-François Beaulieu – owner of Délire Holds – and started to tackle hard lines in Quebec. This naturally led to Val-David. After doing the local 5.13 roof crack Toit de Ben, he set his sight on La Zebrée. At a grade of 5.14a, La Zebrée was dubbed the hardest crack in the province and perhaps the east coast. He sent the route in 2007. In 2011, Pee Wee climbed Necronomicon 5.14a, in Canyonlands, Utah. In 2011 he was awarded the Guy Lacelle Memorial Award for his commitment to climbing hard cracks. In October 2013 he did the first ascent of Hypothenuse 5.13+, at Val-David.
