spent two weeks in Scotland during the British Mountain Club’s ( bmc) annual get-together. Kadatz teamed up with Will Sim for a week of impressive climbs. They repeated the new Slenderhea­d, VIII, 8, before Kadatz teamed up with Ian Parnell and climbed Centurion on Ben Nevis. Walsh and Nick Bullock made the fourth ascent of Extasy,VIII, 8. The climbers then teamed up with Greg Boswell for a new route on Beinn Eighe, Making the Cut,VIII, 8. Walsh and Kadatz climbed a number of new pitches on Ben Nevis before bailing due to snow and wind. “It started about 5 m left of the shield. At the top of pitch-four, the wind picked up and the line became a r iver of spindr ift which put us into abseil mode,” said Walsh. “Scotland is just as rad as Patagonia.”
