Gripped

Anatomy

-

The f inger f lexor pul leys are thick ligaments that wrap around the f lexor tendons in the f ingers. They hold the f lexor tendons f ir mly against the bones, preventing them from bowstr inging towards the sk in during gr ipping. Prevailing thought is that the A2 and A4 pul leys are the most important for f inger function. Rupture of one or more f lexor pul leys can lead to f inger stif fness, weakness and chronic pain.
