Second female ascent of The Shadow

second woman to send the Shadow pitch on The Chief. In 2012, Senja Palonen became the f irst woman to climb The Shadow. Harrington has only been plugging gear for t wo years. She led The Shadow placing al l gear on lead. She climbed the route with Marc-Andre Leclerc. The Shadow was f irst climbed in 1988 by Peter Croft who onsighted the cr ux. Depending on who you ask, the grade is either 5.12d or 5.13a.
